NORTH SPAN OF METROPOLITAN SÃO PAULO’S RAIL BELT –…
ELABORATION OF STUDIES FOR PLOTTING AND OPTIMIZING THE SELECTED ALTERNATIVE
DERSA – Desenvolvimento Rodoviário S.A.
Jan/ 2017 to Mar/2019
The North Span of São Paulo’s Rail Belt (FERROANEL) comprises the dual carriageway connection between Perus and Itaquaquecetuba; in Perus connecting with the Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos – CPTM, and in Itaquaquecetuba connecting with the Parateí siding of MRS Logística.
The FERROANEL includes several types of infrastructures, like:
– 22.8 km on landfill;
– 13.7 km in special engineering structures works (40 SESs,of which the largest is of 1.08 length);
– 16.6 km of tunnel – 13 tunnels of which the largest is of 5.7 km length.
Setec Hidrobrasileira provided technical services for plotting and selecting the best alternative, also elaborating the basic studies, design of the elements, and the plans for executing the works.
Also included in the project were 15 (fifteen) roadway relocations to permit direct connection and to modernize the rail service in the region.
53 km length
40 SESs and 13 tunnels

TECHNICAL STUDIES SERVICES
Initial studies – Support to the EIA/RIMA environment requisites, geometric plotting, geological and geotechnical studies, hydrological and hydraulic studies, landfilling, regular engineering structures and drainage, special engineering structures (36 viaducts, 2 underpasses in “cut-and-cover”, design of the track line’s superstructure, interferences and complementary works, strip breadth and expropriations, contention works and prop walls, tunnels, acoustic barriers, rail systems and fixed installations, operational studies, works execution plan, budget, physical/financial schedule, support to the project management.
INNOVATION – HIGHLIGHT
The plotting’s objective was to leverage the stretches that had synergy between the Rodoanel and Ferroanel undertakings, which could be reconciled and kept within the original strip breadth of the highway’s undertaking, thereby generating optimization/savings of resources, reduction of environmental impacts, less landfilling, drainage, more utilization of existing service roads, dealings with the intervening entities, etc.
