The Salvador Metro Project is part of an ample program to develop public transport, which is being financed partially by the World Bank and by the BNDES; the plan is known as the “Plano Integrado de Transportes de Salvador” (Salvador’s Integrated Transport Plan).
Currently under construction, the Salvador Metro is being implemented in stages and is comprised of 2 lines: Line 1 – Lapa/Pirajá and Line 2 – Bonocô/Lauro de Freitas. These two lines will integrate the City Center with the District of Cajazeiras and with the Municipality of Lauro de Freitas.

DETAILED DESIGNS FOR ARCHITECTURE, CIVIL WORKS AND INSTALLATION

SETEC HIDROBRASILEIRA was responsible for the Detailed Designs for Architecture, Civil Works and Installation of 3.1 km of Line 1, involving 1.35 km underground (NATM), including the Lapa and Campo da Pólvora Stations, and 1.76 km elevated, including the Brotas Station and the overhead rail stretch Fonte Nova and Bonocô. The scope of the contract included the following designs:

  • Track way (3.11 km);
  • Underground works – Tunnels (NATM);
  • Drainage (On-Surface/ Underground / Elevated);
  • Basic Design for the Main Ventilation System;
  • Special Engineering Structure works – overhead rail stretch Fonte Nova and Bonocô (4 km);
  • Metro Stations:
    • Lapa Station – underground (NATM and VCA), central platform, 3 accesses, 9 escalators (rolling staircases), 4 elevators, 18 access blocks, and an overall construction area of 18,220 m²;
    • Campo da Pólvora Station – underground (NATM), lateral platforms, 2 accesses, 18 escalators, 3 elevators, 10 access blocks and an overall construction area of 11,500 m²;
    • Brotas Station: Elevated (metal structure), lateral platforms, 2 accesses, 6 escalators, 3 elevators, 8 access blocks, and an overall construction area of 6,665 m².
    • Projeto Civil do Sistema de Energia – Subestações Retificadoras de Bonocô, Retiro e Pirajá.
  • Civil works design of the Energy System – Rectifier Substations at Bonocô, Retiro and Pirajá.
