The East Line attends to Fortaleza’s main financial and commercial region, between the Central Chico da Silva station in the historical city center and the Edson Queiróz station on the Washington Soares avenue.
Integration with the other lines will be achieved at Central Chico da Silva station for connection with the South Line; Tirol station for the West Line; and the Papicu station for connection with the LRV Parangaba/Mucuripe tramway and the respective Urban Bus Terminal.
The rolling stock is comprised of 20 ETUs (electric train units), with energy fed by a 3000 Volt DC aerial network; traction motor is of the induction type, and traction control is made by static inverters.

FEASIBILITY STUDIES
- Perform the Legal, Social-Economic, and Operational characterization of the Public & Private Integrated Transport System /Fortaleza Metropolitan Region – SITPP/RMF, including the demand studies;
- Elaborate the Operational Project, including: preliminary analysis and diagnosis; financial studies; rolling stock and fixed systems; transport capacities; as well as the effects that the East Line will have upon the SITPP/RMF, currently and in the future;
- Determine the economic feasibility, and equate the finances of the project.
PROJETO BÁSICO
The Basic Design involves the stations, the ventilation shafts and emergency exits, definition of the construction methods for the underground stretch (including Shield, VCA and NATM), superstructure of the permanent trackway, fixed systems (aerial network for traction, electric feeding, maintenance and control center (CCO), telecommunications system, auxiliary systems, signaling, and rolling stock:
- Basic designs for the architecture, provisional works, structures, tunnel drilling by Shield/VCA/NATM, hydraulic and electro-electronic installations, borderline edifications, roadway system, trackway system, fixed systems, and rolling stock;
- Environmental studies, involving: basic studies; environmental impact studies (EIA); environmental impact reports (RIMA); programs, plans and designs for following-up and monitoring of the impacts – Basic Environmental Plans (PBA); technical advisory services for obtaining environmental licensing; documentation package for the bidding process.
