Having the objective of expanding its hydroelectric generation, the EMAE Empresa Metropolitana de Águas e Energia S.A., implemented the Pirapora SHPP, with an installed capacity of 25 MW, built on the left bank of the Pirapora Dam on the Tietê River, in the municipality of Pirapora do Bom Jesus, SP.
The Pirapora SHPP is comprised of: two cofferdams, one of which is upstream (80 meters long) and the other being downstream from the dam (140 meters long), a headrace canal with around 112 meters, water intake placed on the left bank, adduction tunnel of around 280 meters , powerhouse placed at the end of the adduction tunnel , tailrace canal, access bridge, substation (88kV/138kV), and a transmission line connecting this system to the transmission lines of AES ELETROPAULO (currently ENEL).

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION
- General Management of the undertaking;
- Gerenciamento/Supervisão:
- Management of the Detailed Designs;
- Execution of the civil works and of the electric/mechanic assemblies;
- Elaboration of as-built designs and other documents.
- Inspection, diligence, auditing of the fabrication and assembly of electric-mechanical equipment;
- Follow up, inspect, and provide technical assistance for commissioning of the electric-mechanical equipment installed in the field, testing of the operational startup and of the pre-operations of the undertaking;
- Monitor, control, and inspect , regarding the quality , safety, environment, and health – QSEH;
- Follow up, control, assess and inspect the compliance to environmental specifications as required by environmental licenses for the several steps: preliminary, installation, and operation, as well as implementation of the mitigating measures;
- Provide specialized and multi-disciplinary consulting;
- Set up and operate a computerized management system.
